Do I meditate?
Not in the traditional sense of the word
I practice stillness
I lay down beside my son every evening for his bedtime
I close my eyes, he comes in towards me
I acknowledge every sound around me, all whilst practicing complete stillness
Every sound becomes more and more distant until all I hear are the depths of the inner voice, the guidance, the reflection, the offerings.
I believe he surrenders to that stillness, he absorbs that stillness and allows himself to drift into his dreams with that stillness.
I too let go, I allow myself to be transported, informed and elevated
10-15mins this is my daily practice,
My gift from the universe, from the divine, moments we both look forward to, we both connect through
He often grabs my hand and leads the way
No matter how I’m feeling in my day, I always have this time that allows me to pause, reflect and intake.
I am fully aware these moments will not last forever And that’s ok
Eventually he won’t require my comfort to drift into sleep
But I will have gained the skill of stillness and inner connection
The ability to see time, where time didn’t exist
I get to store these moments away in my memory archive and revisit them whenever I choose
I understand this way may not be for everyone
But this is my way of linking a daily task with a much needed daily routine
Opportunity is often there, if you are ready to see it
I don’t have the time…so be creative
I don’t have the resources…maybe you don’t need any
I don’t have the ability…give it a try
I wasn’t always on this journey, I was guided to this path
I wasn’t born with this mindset, I have actively chosen to commit to growth and development
I have been taught to understand the power of choice
Every word I utter, every movement I make, everything I absorb
Is choice
Understanding this has allowed me to truly open up myself, open up my energy fields
To give and to receive, in a way I never imagined possible
It seems the more I go inward, the more I am able to grow and expand outward
In the end all we really have is time, so let’s truly SEE it, honour it and use it wisely.
