new Moon Yoga Practice
Sometimes when you are in a dark place, you think you have been buried but actually you have been planted.
New Moon, New Beginnings. The start of a new cycle. This is the time to plant those seeds that you have long desired to come into fruition.
During this phase of the moon you should plant the seeds you want to manifest. It is believed that the ideas, come from the ether and you must decide which one of them you want to keep hold of. The Divine Feminine Energy is inviting you to create your own destiny. Working with the moon helps you supercharge your intentions, dreams and/or wishes.
The New Moon aka Dark Moon
Practicing yoga during the new moon helps manifest your intentions into your mind, body and soul. It is important that you feel as though the intentions have already happened. Yoga invites us to dive deeper within ourselves and listen to what our heart is telling us. Also, through yoga we can create space and let in opportunities that are on the same wavelength. When it comes to intentions and combining yoga, whilst practicing you must:
THINK IT IN YOUR MIND.
FEEL IT IN YOUR BODY.
REVEL IN IT IN YOUR SPIRIT.
Yoga is not a quick fix, but the practice helps us recognise and reconnect with what matters most.
Remember the New Moon is a beautiful reminder that comes every month like clockwork to remind you to live in alignment with your intentions.
Prepping for the new moon practice: (This is optional)
This is the time to plant those seeds that you have long desired to come into fruition.
This New Moon will:
- make it easier to take action.
- help us feel more secure in the direction we want to go.
- encourage more clarity in starting this new CHAPTER!
1. Clear the clutter
First thing before you sit down to set your intentions for the next moon cycle is to make sure your space is completely clean and clear.
2. Set the tone
Create an inspiring vibe. Light candles, burn some sage or incense, apply or diffuse some essential oils, make a cup of tea and play some soft meditative/zenful music.
3. Journal
Write down what you want to achieve next. Then imagine in your head how amazing it will feel to have accomplished it. Perhaps you don’t quite know how you’re going to pull it off yet, but for now that doesn’t matter quite as much – it’s a day to AIM HIGH & be optimistic!
4. Yoga
Invites you to move inwards and get in touch with your femininity, allowing time for self-reflection and to celebrate the new beginnings symbolised by the New Moon.
Please avoid any heavy meals for at least 3 hours prior to the session.
Keep 2 cushions/pillows and a blanket at hand.
